A middle-aged children's author, innocent and devout by nature, fails to realise that his attractive wife is having an affair with a younger man. When he catches them in the act, he suffers a breakdown and wakes up in hospital with amnesia. As his amnesia gives him the chance to start life anew, the writer soon realises that he risks losing not only his past but also his property and wealth.
