In the past (the 1980s): The events take place in the isolated Tirana of the 1970s and 1980s. Artur, a talented art student, falls in love with Clara Bellini, the daughter of a senior Italian diplomat. This romance quickly becomes an "impossible love", subjecting both young people to the brutal pressure and persecution of the State Security Service.
