Shelter Between the Clouds

Besniku is a solitary shepherd and devout Muslim, unlucky in love. He is the son of a Catholic mother and a former communist father, whom he cares for in a mountain village in northern Albania. Up there, Catholics and Muslims have found a way to live in peace with one another. Even after the discovery that the old village mosque was once a church that had been divided between the two faiths in the distant past, the tranquillity of daily life between the two communities endures, thanks to Besnik's invaluable help. His father's death brings about major changes that threaten the balance within Besnik's family of differing religious beliefs, forcing him to make a significant decision about his life.
